Was excited about having this app on my iPad and being able download scores, but he percussion sounds are just awful compared to the musescore website. The sounds are atrocious and completely muddy up the score to the point of being useless. Have to completely turn them off. Hopefully the developers fix his. As a drummer it’s very disappointing.
  • It’s alright but there are a LOT of bugs that need fixing soon.

It’s adequate enough to be considered useful with the selection of music as well as the ability to transpose key signatures and change the tempo, however, there are a butt load of bugs in the ‘Favorites’ tab, which I believe is the most important. Often times, it’ll have this weird thing where the bottom with go to the top and you have to completely close out of the app. Other times, things won’t add to your favorites tab even after it says it’s been favorited. This app has gone a LONG time without an update, and I think a good sized update is long overdue. Thank you for your time.
  • Percussion sound fonts are broken

I’ve been using musescore on my MacBook since 2014 I think, and it’s an amazing open source solution to music notation. The iPhone app however, not so much. I can’t find a way to start a new score which isn’t a huge problem for me because the main reason I bought this app is so I could play them back to my professors without just opening the mobile website. This works great for most scores I have but all of them with percussion tracks (specifically stand tunes that I am trying to get accepted into our rotation at my college) play as if they’re a synth keyboard of some kind, and of course the sounds that it make are horribly out of key. I’m unsure if there’s a way to change the sound font in the app like you can on the desktop and Mac applications but it’s a big problem I hope is updated.

It’s alright but the touch controls are absolutely abysmal and need to be fixed
  • Useless

I bought this specifically to transpose one piece of music. The instructions told me to use a gear sign which wasn’t there. I wasted an afternoon on this and finally deleted the app.
  • No percussion

The app does basically what it says it’s just a song book. You cannot write music through the app but can play yours and others pieces. The only reason I give this only three stars is because for some reason the percussion doesn’t make the proper sounds and instead makes random high pitch frequencies.
  • Best Music App Ever

I love this app a lot but I’m having a small problem. If I have marching music selected and playing it thinks the marching percussion are a brass instrument. The snares are like a trumpet sound and tenors are mellophones. And so on. Then some times it will not read the tenor or bass parts at all. Lease fix this! The computer app is fine it’s just on the iOS device! Thanks!
