Following my son on this now while he backpacks single. Love knowing where he is and that he’s safe.
  • Essential for any AT hike

Just completed a 3 day section hike of the AT in NC. Guthook is the only app/map you need on your phone. gave me very accurate maps, elevations, and milestones. The user comments were very important when trying to find camping sites and water. Don't hike the AT without this app!
  • Very Nice Addition to Paper Map

Just returned from a 40mi hike on AT in Cherokee National Forest with Boy Scouts. This app was very helpful. In a few cases it showed water sources that were not on the Awol map. The user comments provided insight of the quality of a shelter or water source. I was able to create a route for each day and report to the boys upcoming elevation changes. Take some time to read the help section and tutorials to best utilize the features. Great app!

I have been using this app for the past 3 years and it just keeps getting better!!! LOVE the notes people leave, very helpful to know what I am getting into, what hiker friendly places to visit (and those to give some space).
  • Very user friendly

So far I am loving the Guthook App. We are thru hiking the JMT in a few days and this app was an integral part of the planning process. We have purchased additional series and will likely buy even more down the road. The app is easy to use, provides a plethora of information and the support team is responsive and super helpful! Don’t think twice about purchasing maps through this app - you won’t regret it!

Thru hiking the CT starting tomorrow and this app is so important for my success.
  • Still no New England National Scenic Trail!!

It’s one of the National Scenic Trails, it’s omission is odd and confusing. Many in my hiking club would purchase it ASAP if it were available.
  • Invaluable

This has been so helpful for pinpointing location. I wish it could track without using so much battery and it would be great if it could share your route not just your location. Worth it.
