GyPSy Guide GPS driving tour of Oahu is an excellent way to enjoy a sightseeing trip to explore the entire island. There are 340+ audio points that play automatically, featuring what to see, stories, tips and advice. All the benefits of a guided tour, the freedom to drive yourself. TOUR GUIDE AS YOU DRIVE AROUND OAHU If you like driving yourself when you go sightseeing, GyPSy Guide™ tour apps allow you to enjoy a guided tour experience while remaining totally independent. By driving yourself, you'll be able to get from place to place faster, see more things and not be tied to anyone else's schedule. DON'T MISS OUT ON THE BEST SIGHTS AND STORIES The tour apps use your device’s location abilities to play the commentary AUTOMATICALLY. All you have to do is drive, listen and decide which places you want to stop at. Our tour guides have created an insightful and entertaining tour of Oahu. We’ll recommend the best places to experience and some great locations that most visitors will drive by. PLAYS AUTOMATICALLY GyPSy Guide knows where you are and which direction you are heading, and plays commentary automatically about the things you are seeing, plus stories and tips and advice. EXPLORE LIKE A LOCAL It’s just like having a local friend to show you around. And that friend just happens to be a professional tour guide. GREAT VALUE The same information you would get on a bus tour or from a guide book, for just a fraction of the price. And you control the itinerary and schedule. WORKS OFFLINE No data, cellular or even wireless network connection needed while touring. Download over Wi-Fi before you tour. Anyone can use them with no need for roaming data – even visiting from another country. DRIVING TOUR ROUTE The tour has commentary everywhere on the island that you will want to explore and you can go either way around the island. We recommend dividing the island into at least 2 driving days. Start at Waikiki or join anywhere along the routes. 1) Island Circle Tour. Worth a full day on its own. Major highlights on this tour include the North Shore Beaches, Dole Plantation, Laie, Chinamans Hat, ByodoIn Temple, Pali Lookout and more. If you start early you can combine with the Beaches and Volcanoes Tour. Drive either clockwise or counter-clockwise around the island. 2) Beaches & Volcanoes Tour. Complete in a half day, or make lots of stops to easily fill a full day. Places to see include Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Halona Blowhole, Kailua, Lanikai, Pali Lookout, Punchbowl Crater and more. Hanauma Bay is closed Tuesdays. 3) There is also commentary and directions to drive from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor. If staying at the Disney resort or Ko Olina, there is commentary going that way too. There’s much more to see as we drive and GyPSy will be you very own tour guide all the way. NOTES Download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network. ++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style DC outlet car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle. ** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine. ABOUT US GyPSy Guide™ produce award winning audio tours along scenic drives around the world. Enjoyed by travelers who prefer to set their own pace and itinerary on vacation, but enjoy a fun, informative and educational guided experience. Our goal is to provide a great introduction to the region and perhaps inspire you to learn more and return. None of our apps include paid advertising or placements for benefit.

  • Great App

    By Jim Arc
I’ve been to Oahu many times but on this occasion I brought some friends that wanted to see the whole island. I bought the app because i used the same company App on Maui. It is just a great program. It’s spot on with locations and provides good commentary. It divides the island up in 4 ways and you choose what you want to see. I had a technical issue and called the help number fully intending to listen to pre recordings. I was shocked when I got a real person and got personal service. I’ve never been more impressed with an app. Highly recommend this app.

We were able to see everything on the Island. Great directions and informative dialogue.
  • Impressed!

So impressed that I’m writing a review. I’ve never written a review for an App. That’s how impressed I am with this app. We affectionately named our guide Mr. Man. Mr. Man is the most pleasant and helpful guide I’ve ever had. Appreciate the driving directions and the stories and history. Have to say this beats all other alternatives hands down. While there were just a couple of sites I missed due to lack of attention on my part, I had the opportunity to see and learn so much more than if I did self guide.
  • Must have app if you are driving Oahu

    By Roeeaxp
This app is like having a relative who moved here a decade ago showing you around the island, corny jokes and all. But it’s really a great tour and will show you things you wouldn’t see or give you history or facts that you’d never know. Sure you could look it up or research places to go, but this will tell you about them as you drive there and give you directions along the way. Well worth the few bucks.

I was very happy with the app. It was user-friendly and it was easy to navigate with. We learned a great deal about the tour we did. The combination of a GPS service and a tour guide is an excellent idea. -Ricardo and Gabe
  • The best guide ever!

    By A Thankful Traveler
This is our second time using Gypsy tours. We LOVED the Yellowstone one and were so happy to use this Oahu one as well. He helped us find our favorite beach of all. He was with us on our entire vacation. We love the history lesson as well. I tell all my friends about it and include it in my blog. You will not be disappointed!
  • Great App! Love it!

We visited the islands this past December. I bought the Oahu and Big Island ahead of time and then wished I bought the others in advance as well. I can’t say enough good things about the app. As you drive, the narrator gives a tour as you drive over dots on the road telling you which places not to miss and which to save if you are short on time. In addition, he tells fun little tidbits about the island.
  • Best tour guide app I’ve ever seen!!!

  • Fantastic, must have App

    By Tdj2591
I have used the Yellowstone, Maui and O'ahu Gypsy Tour apps and absolutely loved each of them. I will definitely buy the app anytime we go to an area that is covered. You do not need to hire a tour guide. All you need is a vehicle, Gypsy Tour on your smart phone and a power cord for your phone to stay charged. The app knows exactly where you are, guides you to all attractions, tells you which ones to skip or not miss, suggested roadside food places and provides lots of historical information. The cost of the app was the best money that we spent on each of our trips. It is outstanding and incredibly helpful.
  • Great Help, Worth Every Penny

We were driving around Honolulu not knowing where to go next and I'd seen an ad for this app so I went and bought it. Once I had it downloaded we had a tour guide in our car with us. As a result we were able to visit all kinds of scenic viewpoints and attractions right away. We did both the Island Circle and Volcanoes tours, and came back for a couple of things we didn't have time to do during the drive. A couple suggestions, make it play nice with iTunes Player so I can listen to music and just get a pause / resume when an arrow comes up. Also, the Pearl Harbor "tour" just seems like directions to the parking lot, was there something I missed? The commentary is so good, why not add more tours around the island? Mahalo for the fun tours!
