  • Great content - HORRIBLE APP

I’ve been a subscriber for several years now, and love the publication. It’s really unfortunate that the developers ruined this app in its latest release. I’m prompted to “restore purchases” every time I open it, even when it’s to view a downloaded issue. Of all the complex service request/response apps that are built for far more robust functionality , it boggles my mind that an app that does nothing but download a glorified text file performs so poorly. For the subscription fee we deserve far better!!!!
  • Great content, horrible app

The content is terrific. However, the app is pathetic. Weekly versions of the magazine are not available although customer service insists that they are. It is a shame that the journalistic efforts of delivering fair and balanced news has been compromised by lousy technology.

I’ve subscribed to The Week for years and started using the app a year ago - it’s horrible. I’ve had so many problems and currently have a subscription for six months that I can’t even get to work so I’m paying each week. I’ve contacted customer service twice and they were of no help. I’m switching to a different news outlet till the app can be improved.

Painful. Just painful. Up through last year, this was a great app. A wonderful news source. A pleasure to open and read. The update earlier this year flushed it all away. Now, it's painful to use this app. And it's been been six months, with no improvement. None. What went wrong with these guys?

The app is getting worse. It has come to the point that I am considering dropping The Week. I need the larger type and if this app doesn't get better, I'll drop it. I have the app for a digital issue of The New Yorker and it works fine. Go ask them how to do it.
  • Poorly executed and difficult to use

The new and revised week app is poorly executed and difficult to use. The former system was efficient and simple to use. The new web app is impossible to use, its interface does not resemble the magazine at all. Former pulldowns from the table to content are gone. I presume the developers needed to downsize to meet some budget constraints. I used to read the magazine on my Mac, guess what the newer version has no appeal..its an embarrassment when compared to the former system. What happened?????

Content great but 2 stars for app. Update is far worse than previous. If you close this app then go back in to continue reading it not only doesn’t keep track where you left off, it reopens to the apps home page so you have to start over with selecting the issue you were reading (sometimes we all get behind in our reading). Night mode would be great except every time I “turn the page” it comes up as a glaring solid white screen while it takes a couple seconds to download, burning my retinas at night with every page turn. Plus I have an annual subscription so why do I have a subscribe button right next to the download button for every issue. App needs to be cleaned up. Attention to detail lacking.

I ALWAYS have some at least cursory knowledge of current events because of this magazine. Everyone I know who gets it loves it. I purchased the online version too for when someone borrows my print copy
  • Love magazine but app is unstable

I sometimes can’t get the app to let me read the magazine other than the headers. Not very user friendly. Please get a better app design as I am a digital only reader and need it to work!
