The Skype you know and love has an all-new design, optimized to help you stay connected with the people you care about most. What can I do with Skype? • Communicate easily with the people in your life through free Skype-to-Skype video/audio calls, personalized messaging, and low-rate calling to mobiles and landlines around the world. • Message: send photos, videos, voice messages, emoticons, Mojis, react to messages, and more. • Groups: Free group video and audio calling for up to 25 participants, group chat with up to 300 people, plan or play with bots, add-ins, and personalized features Upgrading to the new Skype may result in the deletion of content from older conversations. To save photos and videos that were previously sent or received in an older version of Skype, save that content to your camera roll/photo gallery before upgrading to the new Skype. Note: Skype-to-Skype calls and messages are always free when used on an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection. Otherwise, operator data charges may apply. System requirements: iOS 10.0 or above.

  • You cannot use your old account!

What’s wrong with the new update, you have to set up a new Microsoft account, so you will all your history and contacts. So long Skype after so many years.

Seriously, I am in a long distance relationship and I used Skype for evening calls on the daily. I can’t anymore since headphones are no longer an option. Seriously that is so dumb to remove

  • Love the new version better!

The older version had so many glitches, so many problems, it was making me not like Skype anymore. So, I uninstalled the app from my iPad two months ago. Just this morning, I checked back to see if any progress was made. Boy, was I in for a big time surprise! -Major UI improvement. -No more glitches. -Bugs were ACTUALLY fixed. -Have had zero complaints Plus, it's only been just over 14 hours and I'm highly pleased with the new layout: GIF images, reactions, etc. It's awesome!
  • Downhill

I guess everything Microsoft touches goes downhill. The app doesn't function as easy as it use to. I could not figure out how to minimize my picture. I want to see the people I call. The sound and picture were good. I am sure they have improvements that I don't need. But, I use this app for talking with friends and family.
  • Bells and whistles

With every news update for Skype, there are new abilities that are nonessential, but I still can't get MSN on my Skype phone number. Please, developers, concentrate on basic!
  • Cannot Stop Notifications

    By Sudoku Zen Master
I use Skype on rare occasions from my iPad. I have a Skype-In account, and have calls forwarded to my cell phone. I recently used Skype on my new iPad for the first time, and now I cannot stop the iPad from ringing with Skype calls. Here is what I have tried: Killed Skype app Turned off all notifications for Skype Background App Refresh is OFF for all applications However, when checking the settings of Skype, Background App Refresh is ON and grayed out. It appears the only way to stop notifications is to delete the app.
  • Time to start looking for a replacement.

Seems microsoft wants to remove capabilities that people used skype in the first place. Want to add a contact as a phone number? Can’t anymore. Want to add a phone number to an existing contact? Nope. Since microsoft is insistent that they make skype more useless to people who use it to call phone numbers, it’s time to find another app. For what they are trying to make it into (more social), there are already better apps plus you don’t have to suffer through the sucky decision of the month that microsoft is pushing down.
