  • My favorite recipe source!

I absolutely love Food Monster. As a person who’s interested in eating lots of vegetables and loves Asian food I find it my go-to source for tasty and healthy recipes. I’m not a vegan but that doesn’t matter. I don’t feel the least bit limited by the fact that there’s no meat or dairy in the selections. In fact, I feel liberated because I can now make easy vegetable dishes that I actually like. One suggestion: I wish when you share a recipe from the app that the link would take you to the specific recipe rather than the home page. If the developers are worried that that would give away too much they might set a limit on the number of shares you can do in a given time period.
  • The app needs some love!

Not fully compatible with the iPhone X, lots of weird UI glitches just scrolling through the list of recipes.

The parts of the app I can access are neat, however, the “collections” never load and crash the app if I try to open a collection to see the recipes. It’s a bummer because I’m paying money monthly, and I can’t even see all the recipes available to me. So what am I paying for?
  • What’s the point

I can see a one-time charge for the app, but a monthly subscription is ridiculous, but there’s nothing there to see without it. If you do find one, you can’t even print it. Google vegan recipes, and save your money.
  • Get ready to pay for half finished recipes

There are plenty of great recipes, but it seems like for every one recipe I find there are three that only have half of the recipe. There are missing steps, ingredients that appear in the directions but not in the ingredient list, vice versa, and some don’t explain it all how to make something. I will definitely not be paying for this again.

It costs $19.99 for the year or $1.99 monthly and it's worth every penny. The features are extensive — everything from bookmarking to being able to leave notes for recipes and making your own meal plan! The app has over 9000 recipes (enough to last you a life time!). Everyone go get it now!!!
  • App crashes after setting up free trial

It was great when it was free, so I decided to pay for the app. When signing up, it automatically puts you on a free one week trial. After signing up, app crashes ALL the time. If I go to any of the tabs on the left, it will act like it’s loading, then either give you a blank screen or freeze completely. So annoying. If this didn’t happen, I’d give the app a 4 or 5 star rating.
  • It really isn’t as bad as reviews state

First, I will be the first to say the app is not perfect with drawbacks like no print feature and occasional glitches. But for menus this is fantastic for Vegans. Some complain the free app doesn’t give you directions which is true. But how many people purchase free game apps all the time to find purchases are the only way to be successful in the game. Come on people it’s not free to have the developer put in their own time and money to create a pretty classy vegan recipe app. How many complaining about this app work for no compensation and give away the work the do. One Green Monster has daily recipes with ingredients and directions. But to get them all when you need them pay the subscription. It’s worth it.

Connected to One Green Planet so how could Food Monster be anything but great? Updated daily with often creative beautifully photographed vegan recipes. Allows you bookmark and save recipes to categories like breakfast, dinner or desserts . User friendly. Instructions along with recipes. Endlessly entertaining, I love this app. I look forward to checking it out every day. When it was new it was prone to freezing up sometimes but they have fixed the glitch. Worth every penny.
